Maybe the biggest news is the loss of full-time assistant coach, Randy Nohr, who will be leaving after 6 years with the ‘Birds. Nohr said, "This was a very tough decision. UBC has become a big part of my life these past six years and the relationships I've made with other coaches, our players, and people throughout the department have made this a very special time." Nohr has certainly been a big factor in the recent success of the UBC program, as during his tenure, the ‘Birds have amassed an impressive 118-13 regular season record, and won 3 Canada West titles (2007, '08, '11). An All-Canadian at St. FX in his playing days, Nohr was a star on the X-Men teams which won the CIS title in both 1999 and 2000. He also had a succesful pro career in Europe. He plans to work in the family business in White Rock.
