Olu Ashaolu Withdraws From NBA Draft

Olu Ashaolu, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Louisiana Tech, has decided to withdraw his name from the 2011 NBA Draft, according to his brother, John.
“Olu is taking his name out of the draft,” said John Ashaolu by phone on Sunday afternoon. “He got great feedback from the Nets workout yesterday. He will return for his senior year and transfer. Olu will be able to play right away since he graduated in February.”
The talented wing who earned numerous acheivments while playing in the WAC this season averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds per game this year to lead the Bulldogs to a 12-20 record.
Now, Ashaolu must decide where he will spend his final year of school. He is considering “Texas, Oregon, Xavier and San Diego State,” according to his brother and will make a decision in the near future. The talented junior is from Canada and played under Ro Russell at Grassroots Canada. That AAU program has produced a number of players who have gone to Texas, including Cory Joseph, Myck Kabongo, Tristan Thompson and Kevin Thomas. Could Olu Ashaolu be next?
